Phlebotomy: Introduction is a two-part program: didactic plus a practical internship. Each student must complete both portions of the program in order to earn a RSP Certificate of Course Completion.
This course prepares students to successfully pass both portions of the program as well as prepare students for the optional national certifications.
The in-class portion of Phlebotomy: Introduction lasts 10 weeks.
Classes are scheduled for Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 9am-1pm or 5pm-9pm.
In-Person attendance is required for all students. All students will be required to be drawn by classmates by Week 4.
After successful completion of a final exam during Week 10, students will be placed by RSP staff into an internship at a local healthcare facility wherein each student must complete 120 unaided venipunctures on actual patients, supervised by an RSP approved trainer. Each student has 10 weeks to complete their 120 draws beginning on the first day of attendance of their internship.
Upon successful completion of the practical portion, the student will be eligible to apply for employment in Oregon.
